You've Got To Be Kedding Me

That's all I've got to say to Madewell about their new Keds collaboration full of crayola bright kicks.  Because I want them.  I want them BAD.  Every neon stripe and polka dot.  Like right now, please and thank you.  Since I'm already imagining the perma-smile I'd have on face every time I'd look down to see them on my tootsies.  So gosh darn adorable.  And who doesn't want another reason to smile anyway, hm?

Wowee KaBROWee

Wow.  That be the only word I can even muster after seeing the super shiny and sparkly brows up there.  Wow.  Wowee.  Wowzers.  Why don't you, we, take a moment to imagine how cool the chick that would actually wear these out and about (sans runway/catwalk) would be?  Like so cool that during lunch, you'd want her to choose your table in the cafeteria to plop her tray down next to just so you could breathe in all her fashion-y fabulousness.  Yeah.  Again, all I got is one word:  Wow.

A. Ski Do

Do you ever find yourself getting nostalgic for styles you used to wear when you were a kid?  Before you cared what other people thought about what you had on?  I SO totally do.  More often than not, in fact.  So when I came across these dainty little danglers here and here, all I could think about is their uncanny resemblance to the candy necklaces of my childhood yesteryear.  Now all I gotta remember if, no, when  I get me some to wear around my own buttoned-up and collar-shirted self,  is that I can't bite and chew these particular pretties.  No matter how much I might want to.

Getting A Big Head

This is the picture that started it all.  'All' being my unrequited lust for everything straw panama-ed when it comes to wanting to wear such stylin' hats atop this big ol' head o'mine.  Unrequited because all the people in my family, girls and boys alike, have been given one gigantic genetic marker: We've ALL got unusually large heads.

Which means, even given our every best accessory-buying efforts, those 'one size fits all' tags inside most toppers that you see?  Yeah, well, the 'all' part of it doesn't pertain to us.  Nope.  Not ever.  Never.  Ever.  So I'm usually fashionably-forced to stick to headbands, bobby pins and scarves.  Well not this year,   gosh darn it.

Because this year, someone else understands our/my big-headedness.  And that someone is Matthew et Elizabeth.  Not only do they NOT come in the dreaded 'one size fits all', but they have TWO different sizes!  Genius.  Which also means I can now look just like the picture that started it all. And in this case, Bigger IS better.

Reading Rainbow

When I came on to publish a post today, I totally blanked.  BIG time.  Like staring-at-the-screen, shaking-my-head big time.  I had (and got) nothin'.  Blankety blank blank goes me.  In my blocked state, I remembered this Gemini-ed horoscope from yesterday: Take it slow, as you may feel out of sorts these days.  Bingo, I thought.  Hit the nail right on the head, astrologers.  So I've decided I'm doing just that today, and burying my nose in a few good books.  Like finishing the Hunger Games trilogy I'm currently and completely obsessed with.  And maybe, just maybe, tomorrow I will be able to return to my regular fashion blog programming posting.

Just Another Mani Monday

Most days, if you see anything on my nails, it'll be a nice short and shiny buff.  I tend to get a tad obsessive-compulsive if I see a break or chip of any kind so I usually steer clear of any color or polish for that very reason.  But something shifted in me the second I saw this swirly-twirly, Willy Wonka-y paint job.  Because now I wanna 'give it a swirl' with a few nail pens and go to town for my own mesmerizing manicure.

Dibs On The Bibs

I love me a white rackerback tank pretty much paired with anything and everything I've got in my closet when the weather starts to get warmer outside.  We're talkin' high-waisted jeans and/or shorts, longer maxi-ish skirts, pretty palazzo pants, my list could literally go on and on here.  But I'll stop long enough to gush about my other layering love come sunnier skies: The bib necklace.  Nothing (to me) looks better than a big ol' colorful something dangling from said white racerback tank.  Nothing.  Nada.

Springing Into Action

The time has finally come for me to put down my trusty black liquid liner in hopes of achieving a brighter, lighter, springtime-y-er makeup look.  And since I almost always try and focus all my cosmetic attention on my lips, I figure with a new season should also come me turning a new makeup routine leaf.  I'm even thinking with pasteled perfection (like this) going on with my peepers, I could forgo mascara altogether so I can be bright, light and airy just like all the super spring-y days ahead.

Cute Roll-Ups

Spring officially sprung ... what ... three days ago now?  Sheesh.  Took long enough, right?  Why is it that Winter always seems to completely overwelcome its stay and yet Spring always feel like it just got here and we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do together before it's already walkin' out the door to home?  Well.  I'm making it my personal mission this year to wear  out its welcome waaaaay  before it's ready to leave.  My first order of business: To wear a daily uniform for all sun-soaked adventures that consists of these  cute little roll-up shorts  with every top that I own.

Pink-y Swear

You know how they say sometimes all you gotta do is put out whatever you want to have happen into the universe and somehow if it's meant to be yours, it will come to fruition?  Well.  I'm counting on just that when it comes to wanting to dye my hair a hot pink cotton candy shade someday.  So here's what I'm a-putting right on out there: One day I am SO gonna have  this shocking shade on my hair.   Pink-y swear.

I Wanna PUMP You Up!

April is almost here which means Easter is almost here which also means that pastels are almost here when it comes to my closet's contents.  No more black, white and grey dominating my daily dressing scene.  Nope.  No thank you.  Instead, I'm a-thinkin' I'm in need of some soft brights to wear on both my legs and my feet (like peachy keen skinnies and towering minty heels) to not only PUMP me up, but to allow me to both step and stomp on out of all of my current black and grey winter-y  (wearin')  ways.

Pinned At Prom

I racked up a few dance cards in my high school days, but there was only one in which I was ever properly corsaged and pinned.  And that was at my Senior Ball.  Yeah.  My high school didn't call it Prom, oh no, we had a Senior Ball.  Much fancier, no?  I was the girl in the little black dress (surprise, surprise) with some baby's breath in my curled and twisted hair and my date was fashion forward enough to know to bring me the prettiest of iris-adorned wrist corsages.  Seriously so pretty.  So not only did I have good tastes in dates, but my date had good taste too!  Ha.  Which now that I'm thinking of it, makes me want to wear a couture-ish corsage all over again.  Just because.  And thanks to ban.do and this particularly pretty little rose pin, I can.

Here Come The Brides

Do you remember the Friends  episode when Rachel, Phoebe and Monica somehow all end up wearing bridal gowns around their apartment while sitting on the couch, just because?  Well.  I took it a step further - literally - many moons ago now by accidentally finding one for myself  (mind you, I was completely and 100% single at the time, come to think of it, still am)  but it was on sale for a hundred ($100!?!) ... and it fit ...  so I forked over the moolah for it and bought it right then and there.    Just in case.

Needless to say, having never been a blushing bride, I've never found much use for it other than maybe sometimes pulling it out and on over the years (when it still fit) to twirl around my living room's floor or to sit on my own couch for no other reason than I could and because Rachel, Phoebe and Monica did it too.   Obviously since that initial purchase o'mine, my style has evolved a bit, but my love for a bargain has not.

That's where Ruche comes in. Because they have a just-launching-today, all things wedding-y collection where every bridal gown just so happens to be under $500 and every bridesmaids dress falls in the 'Under $100' category. Yeah. And they're all super modern/vintage pretty and stuff too.  Just like my style sense now.  Which makes me think maybe it's time for me to add another frock (or two) to my own just-in-case collection.  'Cause it's always good to be prepared, right Rachel and Monica? Phoebe?

Crowning Glory

Finding my fingers flipping through a new Free People catalog every few weeks brings me such unadulterated joy, there are almost no words.  Which would be kind of an obvious problem, given my choice to come on here and blog every day.  Good thing I saved myself by saying almost, right?  Anyway.  It came as no real surprise to me when I stopped on the page with the glorious little flower crowns that I must have one for my very own.  You know, so I could continue the Labyrinth love from this week's past post by looking just like the film's leading lady.  'Cause that's not too weird at all.

Going Green

Every St. Patty's Day, for as long as I can remember fretting about which shade of green to wear to protect me from those pesky pinches, my Pops has doled out the same fatherly advice to me: "Since you're part Irish, you really shouldn't even be wearing it, but orange instead."  Never really feeling brave enough to explain away my non-green-wearing self, I've just always succumbed to sticking to just a little bit of it on me somewhere.  And this year is no different.  Good thing I can count on Giant Dwarf to give me just the right amount of it to stave off the skin-twisting pinches, huh?  Phew.

The Red Zone

You've been warned earlier in the week that my clear color choice of the moment is anything in the red family.  Like that's any bit of a surprise and/or shocker since I boast almost daily (maybe even more than that now that I'm thinking of it) about my undying love for all things ruby-lipped.  So in terms of my makeup that's pictured today, I'm taking it up a notch lately and pairing my fruit punch-ish lips (made possible by this here Stunner stick) with some rosy red cheekies (thanks to this bright blusher)  making what I am deeming to be the perfect ode to my own red zone.

Petal Pushers

I figured I gots to get in on this floral-panted fashion craze while I still can.  And since my favorite color of the moment seems to be any and all shades of red, I thought this ASOS petal-y pair most fitting for my introduction into the fad since their length is kinda super great for both fancy little flats and higher-grounded Springy wedges and/or heels.  And their black background makes it easy to put any other color of the rainbow with them on top too.   Pretty flower power-wearin' perfect.   If you ask me.

Tommy Boy

So I got the latest TOMS catalog in the mail.  And after much oohing and ahhing over the last of its podiatric pages, I came to a surprising style conclusion:  I like the boys' botas the best.  But, much to my shoe-shopping chagrin, none of the colors or prints me and my feetsies fancied were left in my fella-feeted size 7. Shaken, but not deterred, I quickly clicked on over to the ladies' shoe section and found my that my botas bestest were there AND in my size 9!   Wherein a happy feet kind of a dance may have been had at such a super sole discovery.  Maybe.  All thanks to Tommy Boy.

Going On Stripe

This past weekend, I learned of a terrible cinematic travesty.  I really don't know how it was ever possible, but one of my family members had never seen Labyrinth.  I know, I KNOW.  I'll give you a moment to catch your breath from the sheer shock of it all.  Needless to say, the situation was immediately remedied with an hour and a half of me reciting (and singing) every line of the movie to said family member.  And as soon as I saw little Toby's striped jammies again, it made me think of all things Miche and their pretty new spring bag line.  Especially this striped stunner that I now have no choice but to add to my ever-growing  (albeit luckily gifted)  Miche  purse collection.

Love At First Bright

I was first initially attracted to Garnier's BB Brightening Cream given my own blogging letter 'b's, but soon gained a whole lotta new love for it once I put on and blended in the Light/Medium shade.  Not heavy or cakey.  Just smooth and creamy.  Like it was my natural skin, just somehow WAY more beautifully brighter.  So like the title says, it truly was love at first bright.  Almost like it was meant to bb.  Oh, come on.  You knew I was going to have to go with at least one more obvious pun there!   Now where do you suppose I can get me a pin like the one pictured up there??

One Hand In My Pocket

It's not just fur coats!  What was I thinking?  How could I possibly forget that I clearly have one heck of an obsession with brooches as well!?!  Wanting to 'pin it to win it' with as many as I can get my bargain-y hands on.  Including my latest gotta-have-it, one-handed balloon-bouquet-holdin' cutie of an example.  That also just so happens to look super duper adorable peeking out from a teeny tiny little pocket too!?

Fur Fervor

I used to think my one and only real tried-and-true accessory obsession was with vintage-framed eyeglasses of every color and style, but apparently, I was wrong.  So very wrong.  Because it's beginning to become quite clear to me now that I have a new one I didn't even know I really had until these past two wintery seasons have come about with me needing extra layered warmth.  What's my new obsession, you ask?  Well, I'll tell you.  It's faux fur coats.  I love 'em.  I just love 'em.  Can't get enough of 'em and all their super cozy capabilities.  Mm.  Especially if they come from this shop.

In A Galaxy Far Far Away

Seems as though I'm going a bit off the retail budgeting rails this week since I'm showcasing yet another piece that is over my usual $100 limit today.  But I don't think I can really be blamed for it.  See ... it's still snowing here.  Like there's no end (or sun) in sight.  It feels like it's gonna stay this seeing-your-breath cold forever and always.  A tad overly dramatic?  Perhaps.  But this bargainer really, really, REALLY doesn't like to be chilly.  So by featuring this curve-enhancing, cosmically-styled swimsuit, I'm willing Mr. Sunshine to do just that and shine already.  Pretty please ?

About A Boy

I'm a daily reader of all things Pop Pop Portraits and every now and again this little print of a finely-dressed fella pops up on the sidebar for her Etsy shoppe full of adorable sketches and each time he does, without fail, it takes me back to a time when I knew my own version of a Mr. Jarvis (sans glasses) way back when I was a Banana Republic worker bee.  As the years went by, and I went on to other adventures, we lost touch.  But that doesn't mean I don't remember going to see his band play or the CD he gave out to the whole staff for Christmas or that he would always come to sit with me on lunch breaks while I noshed on parmesan pretzel bites.  No it does not.

Boxed In

We all know when we're on a tighter-than-tight budget, our best friend when it comes to our hair and all its many wanted hues, is a box o'color from the store up the street that we put all our trust in to turn the tint it says it will as we open and apply it all by our lonesomes in front of our bathroom mirrors.  And having been donning the lighter shades of the blonde spectrum as of late, I've made it my personal mission every 4-6 weeks to *fingers crossed* gradually and gracefully get out any trace of yellow-y gold remnants from atop the ol' head.  And I think I FINALLY just achieved it.  Thanks to Gwennie here and her blondie-blonde  Extra Light Ash Blonde (LB01)  shade.

Stripe It While It's Hot

Given that this film, Hugo, won close to about a gazillion awards on Oscar night, I knew I had to see it.  And am beyond glad that I did.  It's been a good long time since I've seen something so magical.  With the all-around look of it getting to me the most.  And while I (rather sadly) can't find myself living there and carting around and selling flowers every day for my work like I want to (le sigh), I can sure try my darndest to both look like I am and  like the lil' leading lady and lad, all clad in stripes and plaid.

Like A Polaroid Picture

There are times when I want to dramatically drop down to the ground on my knees with outstretched arms proclaiming, "WHY?!?" as I look up to the sky regarding my incessant need to only buy everything at it lowest and bargain-y best price.  Because sometimes I want something that costs over my usual $100 limit.  Shocker.  Like this Vintage Polaroid Camera Kit where all I can think about is taking outfit photo after outfit photo as I shake and plaster them on my bedroom wall as a kind of monthly clothes calendar so I never repeat the same look twice.  Dreamy.  Besides, I think I heard somewhere that there is an exception to every rule.   Maybe even mine.

The Shooting Range

Like me, do you ever find yourself spending hours upon hours scrolling through your favorite fashion-y blogs and the many, many pretty style shoots within them wondering why you didn't think of that particular position or pairing before seeing that they did?  Because I do.  ALL THE TIME.  And this platinum photo is no different.  But there's a silver lining to this lil' post.  'Cause I have a coat oh-so-similar to the one being rocked above, which means, I can (hopefully flatteringly) copy this photograph's look in my own stylish little shoot any gosh darn time I feel like it.

The Wedge Of Glory

You know, I'm not the only one around here that gets all giddy when I see a super pretty pair of shoes.  Oh no.  My feetsies usually get in on the action too.  Just like they did when they laid their eyes (or in this case, their tootsies) on these cute crocheted babies.  In fact, they may have even gotten up and did a little dance.  Maybe.

The Lollipop Guild

FUN: Something that provides mirth or amusement.  Like these lovely little lollipop hair clips that I'm pretty darn sure need to be in my pixied possession just as soon as I can click the order button from their beyond adorable online Etsy shoppe's home.  Because isn't that what everybody is always saying we are supposed to be having with this whole fabu fashion thing anyway?   Fun, fun and then some more fun?!?

I've Been Bobbed

Gah!  Darn you, Rose Byrne!  And darn you, Anna Faris! That is my past banged bob holding and shaking its fist up into the air in complete coif exasperation given that I have since chopped and cut it back into a pixie again.  See, my hair is still holding a wee bit of a grudge with me because when I had said above choppy cut, there was  a time I was likened to this fine fella, so I may have prematurely snipped.  But don't worry, head of hair o'mine, that's the great thing about you: You always grow back .
